Malwarebytes Premium for your Mac

This article is intended for use by students who need to set up their Mac devices with Malwarebytes.

Malwarebytes is a security program that protects your Mac from malicious threats. Law School students are entitled to (1) free premium license, for one (1) Mac of your choice. The license needs to be validated every 12 months.

Configure Malwarebytes

Please follow the steps to configure Malwarebytes on your Mac:

1. Visit the CUIT Security Downloads website:
   https://sec-downloads.cuit.columbia.edu/malwarebytes-students

   Open

   

2. Click the Malwarebytes link.

3. Enter YourUNI email address.

4. Click the Claim Malwarebytes License button.

5. Enter YourUNI and password.

6. Click the LOGIN button.

7. Click the Send me a Push button.

8. Tap the checkmark to approve the login request from your mobile device.

9. Click the Activate Now button.

10. Click the Download button.

11. On the Dock, Click the Finder icon.

12. Click your Downloads folder.

13. Double-click the Malwarebytes-Mac-4.20.7.5022.pkg file to start the installation.

14. Click the Continue button.

15. Click the Continue button.

16. Click the Continue button.

17. Click the Agree button.

18. Click the Install button.

19. Enter your Mac's Login password and click the Install software button.

20. Click the OK button.

21. Click the Get started button

22. Click the Select button.

23. Click the Close button.

24. Visit the CUIT Security Downloads website.

25. Click the Malwarebytes Link.

26. Enter YourUNI email address.

27. Click the Claim Malwarebytes License button.

28. Click the Activate now button. 

29. Click the Activate this device button.

30. Click the Allow button.

31. Click the Activate button.

32. Click the Done button.

33. Enable notifications if needed using the steps listed

34. Click the Close button.

35. Click the Close button.

36. Click the Move to Trash button.
