The Demographics Report is a PowerBI report made available to users across the school. This document covers the current steps required to build an updated release of this report.

Workflow for Administrators

Update the CEREPORTS tables

The data is managed across a number of teams, and is updated regularly. The sources below should be imported weekly, but there is no dependency that requires a specific schedule for import.

Step 1: CSV Sources (from Slate)

Note: The CSV sources in Step 1 are currently processed on Mondays, with the report reflecting the latest data Tuesday morning.

The file drop location is:

H:\Systems and Data Analysis\DATA_IMPORTS\Demographics\Slate_Demographics_JSON.csv

The Slate query that pulls the data is called "Slate Demographics", and the file is stored on the Slate SFTP server.

The data file is extracted from Slate nightly, retrieved and dropped in this location using a script on the terminal server (copy_slate_to_demo_feed_sftp.ps1).

Step 2: Import Slate Sources

Demographics Import (Slate Query: Slate_Demographics_JSON)

• Execute the Import_JSON import script on the terminal server to update the table.
• Note: This replaces all data in the table with the new values.
• This script is locates in the scripts subfolder of the drop folder where the data is stored.
