Connect to Engram from Synology DSM
How To Connect To Engram Windows Drive from Synology DSM
These instructions are for Synology DSM 6.1.4 but they should be similar for other versions.
1) From the Main Menu open File Station.
2) In the pop-up window, click on Tools and choose Mount Remote Folder → CIFS Shared Folder.
3) In the pop-up Mount Remote Folder options window type in the URL of your network share, your UNI with 'ADCU\' prepended, and your UNI password. The URL consists of a host name name and your share name. In the example below, the network share tier is General Tier, the network share is called testshare (use your network share name) and the UNI is called ztest01 (user your own UNI).
Example:
URL (Folder): //locker-smb.engram.rc.zi.columbia.edu/testshare
User (Account Name): adcu\ztest01
Password: (UNI_Password)
Then, press Browse to select a local Synology folder as the mount point. Optionally, check Mount automatically on startup. In the example, "Mount to:" /datadump/locker-smb folder is selected.
Note: DSM will not allow the mount folder to be specified under a Synology shared folder (such as home, or homes/username).
To connect to other tiers, change the hostname:
Connect to Staging Tier (staging): //staging-smb.engram.rc.zi.columbia.edu/testshare
Connect to General Tier (labshare): //labshare-smb.engram.rc.zi.columbia.edu/testshare
Connect to Longer-term Tier (locker): //locker-smb.engram.rc.zi.columbia.edu/testshare
Click on "OK", then "Mount".
4) The The Engram share name will appear under the Remote Folders on the File Station left pane, while its contents will be displayed in the right pane. You can now copy files to/from the share, create folders, etc.
Disconnect from SMB share
Choose Tools→Mount List, then click on the Remote Folder tab. Right-click on the line that displays your Engram share and choose "Unmount".
