FY25.2.x: Functional Design (Slate+Academics)

Executive Summary

The purpose of this document is to detail the functional design of the tools that will be used to facilitate the Slate + Academics Platform that will be deployed with this project.  It will be supplemented with a more detailed Technical Design that covers the specifics of the application elements that will comprise the overall toolchain.

Functional Components

The following sections will detail the functional components that are required to successfully implement this project.

  • Faculty Information Survey
    • Create a survey for faculty based on the specifications here:
    • Send it to people with a status of "lecturer" who taught in 2024 and do not have a status of "Active - Full Time."
    • Send it to the list of full-time faculty provided by the faculty affairs team.
  • Faculty Information System
    • Simplify the Scholarly Contributions tab in the Faculty Information System by removing the most specific fields in order to simplify data entry. 
    • Make obsolete fields inactive.
    • Create new fields as necessary.
    • Create new Scholarly Contribution types as necessary.
