Task: Creating New Inbox Email Alias (Slate+Advising)
Create Email Address
- Create ticket with CUIT to create a "service" email address for the alias.
Create a New Role in Slate
- Navigate to Database.
- Click "Role Groups & Permissions."
- Click the "New Role" button.
- Enter the name of the role with the format "Inbox - (Role Name)."
- Enter the newly obtained email address for the alias.
- Grant the permissions "Inbox" and "Inbox Snippets Admin."
- Click the "Save" button.
Create an Inbox Group
- Navigate to Database.
- Click "Inbox Groups."
- Click the "New Group" button.
- Enter the Alias name.
- Select the newly created role as the Default Role.
- Click the "Save" button.
- Copy the "Forwarding Address" from the next screen.
- Submit a ticket to CUIT requesting that the service email address forwards to the given email address.
Assign Users to the Inbox Role
- Navigate to Database.
- Click "User Permissions."
- Click on a user that should have access to the alias.
- Click the "Edit User" button.
- Navigate to the "Roles" tab.
- Check the newly created role.
- Click the "Save" button.
- Repeat Steps 3-7 for each additional user.
