Task: Creating New Inbox Email Alias (Slate+Advising)

Create Email Address

  1. Create ticket with CUIT to create a "service" email address for the alias.


Create a New Role in Slate

  1. Navigate to Database.
  2. Click "Role Groups & Permissions."
  3. Click the "New Role" button.
    1. Enter the name of the role with the format "Inbox - (Role Name)."
    2. Enter the newly obtained email address for the alias.
    3. Grant the permissions "Inbox" and "Inbox Snippets Admin."
  4. Click the "Save" button.


Create an Inbox Group

  1. Navigate to Database.
  2. Click "Inbox Groups."
  3. Click the "New Group" button.
    1. Enter the Alias name.
    2. Select the newly created role as the Default Role.
  4. Click the "Save" button.
  5. Copy the "Forwarding Address" from the next screen.
  6. Submit a ticket to CUIT requesting that the service email address forwards to the given email address.


Assign Users to the Inbox Role

  1. Navigate to Database.
  2. Click "User Permissions."
  3. Click on a user that should have access to the alias.
  4. Click the "Edit User" button.
  5. Navigate to the "Roles" tab.
  6. Check the newly created role.
  7. Click the "Save" button.
  8. Repeat Steps 3-7 for each additional user.
