How-To: Transition from ASR to Enhanced ASR
ASR vs. Enhanced ASR
Basic Differences
- Perhaps the most apparent difference between the ASR and the Enhanced ASR is the placement of the previous and current year tables. In the ASR, this data was presented horizontally across the spreadsheet, with the previous year on the left, and the current term on the right. In order to consolidate screen space in an online report, the Enhanced ASR stacks the two years in a vertical view.
- The ASR was updated manually once per week, while the Enhanced ASR is updated automatically each morning to reflect the latest numbers.
- Because the ASR was a static Excel file, we were able to distribute the file to users via email. The Enhanced ASR is delivered through an online service, and is available to users whenever they need to see it. We will send weekly notices to the same distribution list as a reminder to check the numbers, but there will no longer be a file waiting in your inbox.
- Each term appears in the ASR as a section within the spreadsheet, while the Enhanced ASR has selectors to allow the user to choose which year and term to be displayed. By default, the Enhanced ASR will display the upcoming term and year.
- The ASR separates degree and non-degree into their own tab, while the Enhanced ASR shows all programs together in the same view; however, the Enhanced ASR also provides selectors to allow the user to filter on degree type and/or program description.
Current Year Views
The color-coded image below shows how the data is mapped between the two reports for the current year view of the applicant pipeline.
The Enhanced ASR includes additional data points to show the number of RFIs, declined and waitlisted applicants, and potential incoming deferrals. There are also delta change columns provided for a quick indication if the pipeline is up or down over the previous term's values.
Previous Year Views
The color-coded image below shows how the data is mapped between the two reports for the previous year view of the applicant pipeline.
The Enhanced ASR includes additional data points to show the number of RFIs, declined and waitlisted applicants, as well as the status of the deferrals for the previous year.
