How To Send An Announcement in CourseWorks

This article is intended for use by faculty, faculty assistants, or users with the TA role that would like to share important information with all users within your course and with users in sections of a course. In your notification preferences, you can receive notifications for announcements created by you and replies to announcements you've made.

NOTE: Since many students may have CourseWorks notifications deactivated, please use the Mailtool if you'd like to ensure your entire class receives your message.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Log in to CourseWorks and navigate to the course that you'd like to change the menu for.
  2. On the left, in the Course Menu, click on the Announcements link.

  3. Click the blue Add Announcement button.

  4. In the Topic Title section, type a title for the announcement.

  5. Type your content using the Rich Text Editor.

  6. Once you're finished editing, click the Save button.
