How to Manage Course Navigation Links

This article is intended for use by a person enrolled in a course with the role of Teacher, Enhanced TA or you are a CourseWorks Site Admin.

can control which links appear in Course Navigation. Canvas includes a set of default Course Navigation links that are shown by default and cannot be renamed. Depending on your course configuration, other links may be available and may be customizable.

  1. Log in to CourseWorks and navigate to the course that you'd like to change the menu for.
  2. On the left, in the Course Menu, click on the Settings link.

  3. Click on the Navigation tab.

  4. To move the links, choose one of the following:
    1. Use the drag and drop option to reorder navigation links:
      1. Click the navigation link you would like to move.
      2. Drop the navigation link in the desired location by releasing the mouse.
    2. Use the move option to reorder navigation links:
      1. Click the ellipses to the right of the navigation link you'd like to move.
      2. Select the Move link.


Tip

Ensure that you click Save before navigating away from the Settings screen to save your changes.
