It is important to connect our communications with students to their records in Slate. Slate makes it easy to accomplish this. Each Slate user has a special "Bcc Email address" tied to their user record. When you send an email to a student, put that special email address in the Bcc field. A copy of the email will reach the Slate Server. The specific email address in the Bcc field will connect the email to you as the sender. If the system can identify a record that matches the email address in the "to" field, it will be connected to their record.
To simplify the process, create a contact recordĀ called "Slate Connection" (or something similar) in your Google Contacts. Assign the special Bcc email as its email address. Then when you email students, simply add that record to the Bcc Field.
