Software Offerings on Cortex VMs

When you request a Linux VM on Cortex, a number of tools and packages are installed by default on your new VM. The table below lists the tools that are available and links to instructions for how they can be used. When application versions differ between the operating systems that are provided as part of Cortex, all versions across all operating systems are listed. Application versions may change with updates to Cortex. Each Cortex VM is built from a template with a specific version number, which can be cross-referenced with a version history on the pages below to determine the version of a package that is installed on your particular VM.
Additionally, there are a number of tools that you can readily install on your Cortex VM using the conda package manager. These tools include newer versions of some of the packages above. We provide links in the list below for anyone who would like to install these tools themselves after a Cortex VM has been provisioned:
