How To Connect To Engram Windows Drive from Windows

These instructions are for Windows 7 but they should be similar for Windows 10 and other versions.

1) Open Windows Explorer and click on the “Map network drive” tab.

Alternatively, right-click on “Computer” and select “Map network drive”.

2) In the pop-up window, select a drive letter (e.g., Z:, Y:, …).

Type in the network share path in the “Folder” box and replace "testshare" in the following example with the name of your network share.

Example: \\labshare-smb.engram.rc.zi.columbia.edu\testshare

Check “Connect using different credentials” checkbox.

Optionally, check “Reconnect at logon” checkbox if you want to automatically connect to the share at logon.

Click “Finish”.

3) In the pop-up login window, enter your username and password. Your username will be “adcu\<your_UNI>” and the password will be your UNI password.

Optionally, check “Remember my credentials” checkbox.

Click “OK”

4) The share will appear as a network drive with the letter selected in Step 2. You can now create folders, copy files to and from this drive, etc.

You can repeat steps 1-4 to mount other shares.

Disconnect from SMB share

Right-click on the share path in Windows Explorer and choose “Disconnect”.
