Features to Consider

• Security & Access Management
  • Define role-based security model and assign users to appropriate groups based on role
    • CONSIDER: Create program-level realms for segmenting individuals by program
  • Students should be allowed to view personal records and student-facing forms and events only
    • Dependent on the Student Portal implementation
• Unregistered Student List
  • Advisors will have a list of eligible students who are not registered on their main portal screen.
  • Advisors can click into a student’s record to find out why s/he might not be registered.
  • Advisors will be able to send form emails to students (either sent automatically or  triggered by the advisor after assessing the student’s status).

Release FY25.2.1 [December 2024]

• Registration Monitoring 
  • Created "Registration Status" prompt for "advising_reason" key.
  • Created Registration Monitoring Tab on student page consisting of:
    • Registration Monitoring entity widget.
    • Table listing all of the student's most recent advising notes related to registration status. 
  • Created Registration Monitoring user portal.
    • Users log-in, click to go to registration monitoring.
    • A query runs to identify students with a status of "New Student" who are not registered for any courses in the upcoming term (who either do not have a current registration status OR who have not indicated that they are not enrolled due to graduating).
    • The list of eligible students is generated in hidden table.
    • The user can choose to filter by program(s), admit term(s), and/or last initials.
    • The list of relevant students appears with their name, UNI, a link to send them an email (through Slate). their program, admit term, and most recent registration status.. There is also a link to the student's registration monitoring tab as well as their advising notes tab.
      • If the user enters registration monitoring info on the student's registration monitoring tab, it will automatically populate the table.
      • If the advisor takes an action but cannot update the row, there is a button to press to show that it has been updated.  
• Incomplete Grade Requests
  • Changed portal query so that (in addition to classes without grades), students can complete an incomplete grade request form for classes in which they already have an Incomplete.
• CDL Coach Scheduling
  
  • Created a check on the "show coach page" so that if the coach no longer has an active slate account, it shows the student a message to look for a different coach.
• Advisor Scheduling
  
  • Created a new Advisor scheduling portal that contains a method and view page for each coach.
  • Changed the URL of the new portal to replace the previously existing one.
• Change of Modality Form
  
  • Created an automated communication with the approval/denial information for the student.
• Program of Study Prompt List
  • Assigned each prompt a category of MS (Masters of Science), MPS (Masters of Professional Studies), or NDG (non-degree)
  • Changed the prompt key so that the export values is given a heading of "Program Code."
• CDL Coach Scheduling
  
  • Cleaned up code by creating a query of eligible programs and exporting their codes rather than their full titles.
  • Use students' program code rather than their their programs' full-titles so that it is easier to compare the two arrays to identify valid programs. 
  • Updated the query so that number of pending appointments is one query rather than having separate queries for in-person and virtual and having to add the numbers together to get a count.

Release FY25.2.0 [November 2024]

• HBCU/CUNY Fellows
  • Created a "Fellowships" prompt key with "HBCU" and "CUNY" as prompt values.
  • Created a "Fellowships" select multiple field that uses the "Fellowships" prompts.
  • Created a "Fellowships" source upload.
  • Uploaded a spreadsheet of people with HBCU and CUNY fellowships.
  • Created a CUNY Fellows population and a corresponding rule to assign students to the population.
  • Created an HBCU Fellows population and a corresponding rule to assign students to the population.
• Incomplete Grade Request Form
  • Added Program of Study as a read-only field to the form.
  • Added Course ID as a read-only field dynamically updated when the student chooses a course from the drop-down menu.
  • Updated communications to include Program of Study and Course ID.
  • Added Internal entry fields that can be updated if the request has been approved and the student has signed it:
    • Notes
    • Final grade
    • Resolved date
  • Added instructions for completing the form.
  • Editing mailing for after the instructor makes a decision so that it is clear that the student needs to return to the form to enter a signature.
