8th Auditorium Classroom AV
When you first enter the room, please make sure that the computer is turned on. To do so, open the cabinet below the podium and you should see the computer. If it appears to be turned off, please press the power button to turn it on. If it is on and you do not see a display on the monitor, move the mouse around and the computer should wake up from sleep mode.
Method #1: Classroom PC
- Located on the right side of the podium, you should see the Crestron touch panel, tap the screen to see access the classroom AV.
- Then select "PC" located on the right of the Crestron touch panel. (Please allow up to 2 mins for the projector to power on and the projector slide to come down.)
- To blank your display, select "Blank Screen". (Lets say you want to to look at your email or Powerpoint before you start)
- The room PC will now be displayed on the projector.
Once you are done using the space, please power down the AV technology in the room.
- Tap the red "Power" button located on the bottom right corner of the Crestron touch panel.
- Then select "Yes Shut-down and exit" located on the left side of the screen.
- The projector will power down and the projector slide will retract.Â
Method #2: Laptop Connection
- Located on the right side of the podium, you should see the Crestron touch panel, tap the screen to see access the classroom AV.
- Then select "Laptop" for the classroom PC. (Please allow up to 2 mins for the projector to power on and the projector slide to come down.)
- Then connect your adapter to the HDMI cable (if needed), located on the right side of the podium. (Adapters are not provided)
- To blank your display, select "Blank Screen". (Lets say you want to to look at your email or Powerpoint before you start)
Once you are done using the space, please power down the AV technology in the room.
- Tap the red "Power" button located on the bottom left corner of the Crestron touch panel.
- Then select "Yes Shut-down and exit" located on the left side of the screen.
- The projector will power down and the projector slide will retract.Â
Microphones
We have one podium mic, one lavalier mics (clip on mics), and one handheld mic. (For additional mics, please request them at msphAV-tickets@cumc.columbia.edu)Â
The mics are located on the right side of the podium.
- The lavalier mics (clip on mics) on and off button is located on top of the clip on pack.
- The handheld on and off button is located in the middle of the handle.
- The podium mic on and off button is located at the base of the mic.Â
Webcam
By default the webcam will always be facing the audience, you may also adjust it to face the presenter.
