If the ID or password is not visible, showing dashes, there might be firewall restrictions in place or the full version of TeamViewer is already installed and configured for remote access by someone else, such as an IT department. Check with the respective IT department to allow access.
On the macOS, system permissions need to be granted to the TeamViewer app to allow remote control (see How to control a Mac running macOS 10.14 or higher).
