What camera and lenses do you typically use for green screen studio shoots?

We typically film courses on the Canon 1DX mark ii. We like it because the combination of 4K resolution and the autofocus make the speakers look sharp and vibrant. Lens wise, we use a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 lens that is usually zoomed in to around 50mm.

Are the green screen lights in the studio sufficient, or do you bring additional green screen lighting for shoots?

  1. The CBS studio has a nice overhead bi-color LED setup, but we usually bring in our own additional lighting to fill the bottom of the frame on the green screen to achieve the best key.

What boom mic do you use for recording?

  1. Our audio config is 2 channels:

    1. 1 Sennheiser wireless lav set (clipped near the speaker’s collar)

    2. 1 Sennheiser boom mic
